Rockford

Sunrise on the Kishwaukee River

Rockford was basically a pit-stop for us. Blackhawk Valley Campground is a Passport America park. Two of our three nights were half-priced. The grocery store for stocking up wasn’t too far away. The wifi was fairly decent; Mike did find a local library for a day, too. Trying to Leave Michigan

It really went!

We spent our final two Michigan nights back at Markin Glen in Kalamazoo to spend time with my family. We enjoyed a High School football game with my sister’s family and parents (unfortunately, the band did not perform that night due to the rain, so we didn’t get to see my niece in the color guard) and we spent time with my parents around a campfire and around their dinner…   Read More >>

Rich, Becky, Mike & Crissa (looking road weary)

Another state. Another college buddy. Becky (and Rich) live relatively close to the route we were taking towards Michigan. It was only right that we changed course to stop in for a visit. Both Rich and Becky work at home, so they were able to make time for us during the day. We stopped in just before lunchtime (we have great timing).
